HIGH SCHOOL CANOE CAMP
This summer, we return to the Namekagon River again! This is a youth-led expedition, with the young people cooking meals, maintaining boatloads, and setting up camp. We set up camp every night at a different spot alongside the beautiful river, share meals, conversations and so much fun!
Canoe Camp will take place on the beautiful Namekagon River once again this year. Come ready to sing, paddle, hear stories, have deep conversations, cook meals, and play games as we build our journeying camp each day together on the river. Canoe camp is unique in that we form our camp on the go and every day is different, yet builds upon the last.
This camp allows the teens to take the lead in areas they wish to step into.

What to Expect
Each morning we pack up our camp in its entirety, starting with the youth packing up their personal belongings after breakfast and then group gear after that, followed by loading all the canoes in such a way that each boat has an equal load. We then paddle down the river, singing songs, telling jokes, laughing, and taking in all the sun, fresh air, and hints of wildlife along the way. We often stop at a nice swim spot and play a game or two while taking a snack, water, and lunch break as well. When we get to our site, we begin by offloading all the canoes, and once they are emptied and secured we begin setting up our camp for the night, collecting firewood, setting up the kitchen, and tents, and hoisting tarps before enjoying some downtime, cards, or frisbee. We prepare and enjoy dinner, build a fire, and have our evening assembly and conversations before closing the day under the star-filled night sky.
